Conyers, Ga., Nov. 15.—Jeff Lundy,
the negro who killed Eddie Blnion, near
Devereaux, Hancock county, ton days
ago. was captured this morning by
Deputy Sheriff DeLoach and others and
waa carried to Sparta to Jail.
Lundy was found In a negro house
six miles from Conyers ahd surrounded
by officers. He throw a pitchfork at
one of the posse and then emerged,
fighting fiercely. Ho was shot by one
of the officers before he could be taken,
the bullet inlllctlng a flesh wound.
Blnion was a clerk In a store on the
Place where the negro worked and the
killing waa caused by a quarrel over
rents. The negro escaped. Peeling
high In this section and the negro was
rushed to Jail as soon as possible.

for the government during the lost five

Houston. Texas. Nov. 15.—The teleg
raphers strike, situation Is unchanged.
All the men who walked out of the
Western Union office ore still on strike,
while the company has secured but two
men to take their places.
Telegraphers In Galveston and Dal
las Western Union offices. It Is report
ed, have threatened to strike If the
company attempts to send any of the
forces of those places to Houaton.
The strikers soy they are confident of
winning. ...
The Western Union 'officials will
make no statement. The Associated
Press, which Is the primary cause of
the trouble, refuses to cover the matter
In Its reports.

TRIES TO KILL GIRLS

Roanoke, Vn., Nov. 15.—Sunday last
Moses Ferguson was arrested charged
with attempted criminal assault on. his
two daughters aged, respectively. 16
nnd 13 years.
He was set at liberty under bond
and last night a second warrant was
sworn out charging Ferguson with at
tempting to murder his daughters on
account of the charge. He has left
the city.

Mabel and Ethel Lawrence here In Septem
ber was pit Id Thursday morning to C. \V.
Hunter, n Fulton county dairyman, who
captured the negro, Robert Branham, at
Lnxomul, in Gwinnett county. Payment
was made on presentation of properly at-
tested papers showing that Mr. Hunter was
entitled to the reward. Branham was con
victed In two counts nnd given twenty
years in each. f

attacked a railroad station on the Vis
tula railroad, killing the soldier guard
and securing a large sum of money.
