cereals on the board of trade. The
volume of business was enormous and
the longs led the demand early, follow
eel later by shorts nnd Investors. The
situation In oats was quite strong, and
many who sold early reinstated their
lines Liter. The close showed gains of
3-8(G>r>-8c. Wheat was l«8c better.
This market was quiet late In the ses
sion. Torn was slow, too, as the day
waned. It closed 184f 3-8c higher. Pro
visions 2 l-2<Tf'15c betters.
Argentine shipments of wheat for the
went are estimated At 800,000 bushel*,
atfd corn at 2.000,000 bushels.
At the seaboard the sales were 27
loads wheat, no corn and 30,000 bush
els oats. At Chlcngo rush transac
tions Included 15,000 bushels wheat,
no corn nnd 57,000 bushels oats.
Primary wheat receipts 887,000 bush
els, and corn 525.000 bushels, compared
with 792.000 nnd 712,000 bushels, re
spectively, a year ago.
Clearances for the day were 83H.OOO
