Madison, Qa., Dec. 28.—Tuesday
night the city aroused by the fire
alarm at a very’ late hour. Only a few
responded on account of the severs
weather, and found the lire to be In ons
of a Htrlng of construction cars stand
ing near the Central railroad depot.
For some time It seemed that a large
number of cotton bales on a near-by
platform would also be consumed, but
by hard work some of the cars were
moved back, saving the rest of the de
pot property.
Three cars were consumed.
