GENTLEMAN FROM BIBB
TO GUARDAPPROPRIA 7 IONS
Will Representative Joe Hill Hall, of Bibb county, be chairman of
the house appropriations committee tor 1907-9?
ir the political forecasters are correct, the
Macon man will head that committee.
■ Already Dame Rumor Is busy with specu
lation as to the formation of the next house,
and the chairmanships of the Important
committees.
With these reports, one hears that "Jack
Blatoh will name such and such a man to
head this or that committee,” which I. ta
ken to mean that flip Fulton county man
Tym ha elected speaker again without oppo.
ulllon.
In the legislature of 1905-4 Representa
tive W. H. Davis, of Burke, woe chairman
of the appropriations committee. Mr. Davl.
will not be In the next houee. In that
house Mr. Hell we. chairman of the com
mittee on naw counties.
It la said that economy Is lo be the
watchword of the Incoming administra
tion, and this lends force to the rumor that
. Mr. Hall le to head the appropriation, com
mittee. He haa won the soubriquet of
"watchdog of tha treasury ” and If he la n>
be the official dispenser of the public fund,
the state will peas Into a period of rigid
e c o nomy for the next two years, at least.
The coming session ot the general assem
bly will be one of the most Important of

he Is pledged to many and drastic reforms.
