John Glen, of said connty, respectfully showeth, that
they, with such parties as now are, or may hereafter be.
associated with them, desire to be incorporated, aud
made a body politic, and corporate, located’in the city of
Atlanta, State and countv aforesaid, under the corporate
name aud style of the “Fulton Loan and Buildiug Asso
ciation,” with a capital of three thonsand shares, in
shares ol one dollar each, to be paid by successive
monthly installments of one dollar on each share, so
long as the said corporation shall continue: for the pur
pose of loaning money to be secured by transfers of
stock, and mortgages on real estate, according to the
usages of loan and building associations in this State:
with power to appoint all proper officers, and fix their
salaries, and to make needful constitution, by-laws, and
regulations as they may beem proper, not repugnant to
the laws of the State of Georgia, the Constitution there
of, or of the United States, lour petitioners pray your
Honor to grant such order as may be necessary and pro
per according to the statute in such cases made and pro
vided. incorporating them, arid such others as are, or may
hereafter be, associated with them, under the foregoing
name and style, with full corporate powers for ten years,

at October term, 1806, to constitute ns and our succes
sors, a corporation under tiie name and style ol “The
Mechanics’ Loan and Building Association,” for the pur
pose of lending money, to he secured by transfers of
stock and mortgages ou real estate, according to tbe
usage of loan and building associations in suid Stale.
We wish to have two thousand shares, to be sold at one
dollar, each, all of which will be paid in before we com
mence to exercise the privileges conferred by the charter
asked for. We pray that said charter may be for ten
years, and confer the usual privileges given by acts of

lanta, in said county, to Shadrick I. McMichael, and that
said original Deed is lost or destroyed ; said petition and
