Malcom, other wise retired, is Indulging in heavy sport these days —that of hunting rab bits without a gun- George brought us a rabbit the other day that was ho tired it went to sleep before we knock ed it in the head. Mr- and Mrs. Kern Rowan had as week-end guests, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Trimble nnd family and Mr- and Mrs. It. T. Brooks and family of Decatur- The reason we list him by his second name Is. he has a white mule nuined Itob and we don’t like his mule- Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Granade had as their week-end guests Mr- and Mrs. J. T. Allen, of Atlanta- Miss Mary Still entertaljiksl over the week-end for Miss Mabel Thomp son. of Rome, Ga. Miss Thompson will he rt memhered as one of our splendid high school teachers of last year, Mlhh Gertrude Reagan sis*nt the week-end at Milstead, guest of her friend, Miss Luelle Mayhue- Mr. Joe Underwood, of Rockdale, spent last week in Atlanta. Mr. Under wood Is one of the live wires in the Rockdale church and itopular leader of its younger set. Miss Mildred Harvey, •of Atlauta. spent tin* week-end in Conyers, guest of tier parents, Mr and Mrs. H. P. Treadwell. Miss Annett Nix, of Atlanta, spent the week-end in Conyers, guest of her parents, Chief and Mrs. Clms. S. O'Neal- Returning, they atopited for supper with Mr. and Mrs- Ernest Plunkett at Decatur. H- Parham and Lon Rice. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Hollingsworth entertained over the week-end for their son, lulls, and Mr. and Mrs. J. 11. Dickey and daughter, of Atlanta. Mr- and Mrs. Geo. D. Malcom enter tained over the week-end for their son, George, nnd his cousins, Mr. and Mrs- Clifford Malcom, of Atlnntu. Mrs- R. II- Still and young son re turned over the week-end from a week's visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Saye. at Rutledge. Mr. and Mis. I*. II- Thornton have with them this week, Ills brother, Dr. T. R. Thornton, of Union Point. The Matrons’ club will entertain this evening with a Valentine party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Elliott. Fortunately it's going to be on the order of a tacjlty affair, somewhat like numerous Valentines you see in book stores and this will enable them to invite Opher Cooper, our young man school teacher. Mr. Harold Hale, one of our young nnd progressive citizens and merchants, is exjtected home this week-end follow ing an emergency operation for appen dicitis some two weeks ago at Wesley Memorial hospital. Mr. Emory J. Granade suffered a stroke of paralysis some ten days ago, since which time he has been serious ly ill ut his home in Conyers, but re- IKirts coming from bis bedside are en con raging this week.
