Where working together is everything IT IS the aim of the Bell System that anyone any where in the country can pick up a telephone and talk to anyone anywhere else clearly and without delay. That is the meaning of universal service. To provide it, the means of telephoning must be uniformly good. This company, for example, has full access to all the improvements and methods that are continually be ing made. There are 5,000 workers on the Bell staffs whoso sole occupation is to develop constantly improving methods and equipment for the 350,000 employees of the Bell System to use in serving the public. Tho results of the efforts are evident, not only in the ex tension of telephone service across the Atlantic, but in the constantly improving local and long dis tance service at home. The Bell System accepts its responsibility for a nation-wide telephone service as a public trust. e. • _ SOUTHERN BELL TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH COMPANY. (iiKfrrmM) I KG Al. LAND SALK ( ;l - ( i|t;| A. Rugged—fine appearing—generously over-sized! that’s the NEW Goodyear Pathfinder, and it wears as well as it looks. Every bit of material in those big, sturdy tires is care fully selected and thoroughly tested. The rubber is blended to obtain the standard uniform toughness of Goodyear treads and sidewalls. All materials must meet Goodyear’s rigid standards. Goodyear experts measure for fine quality every bale of cotton used in Goodyear mills. Again when the cotton leaves the mill as Goodyear Supertwist Cord, it is tested. All through it’s building each tire is tested—inspected watched to assure high quality. No wonder Goodyear Pathfinders are GOOD. r- We’d like you to see these tires. You’ll appreciate their low cost. More people ride on GOODYEAR Tires than on any other kind Langford Motor Cos.
