Fifty Year Old Mother of Sixteen Sent to the Gang It Is refreshing to know flint our efficient prohibition officers have fin ally t'liuglit somelssly with unotlier quart of home brew, and esjs*cially is it i*ni'oiirnging to learn that il was a young Arkansas mot tier of fifty years suffering, denials and disappoint ments, tla* mother of sixteen children at Fort Smith, Ark. A leniency plea by defense counsel, who cited the woman’s large family and her clear record, brought little sympathy from tin* bench, as .lodge Frank A. Youmans replies —“It is too bad that Theodore Iloosevelt is no longer living.’’ The man fond of big families and in sympathy with erring parents. (Mir comment is the very fact that prohibition officers are permitted to sound an alarm upon the door of a mother’s domicile, the sanctum sanc toriuin of American freedom and un cerimonously molest her, even shoot her down within her own God-given reterat. Is enough to condemn them and tin ir whole works as being of the devil instead of being in the in terest of righteousness. Florida. Texas and all other Southern states that went Republican are up in arms mil introducing resolutions and proc amations against what Mr. Hoover ;iiows as ‘‘brunette's" around our family table. Our comment is, we don’t object to no ody having a nigger in their wood pile—in fail, that is where lie should lie and that is where they are pleased to be down here in Georgia.
