Cannon enter tained the Friday Night Bridge Club at their home on Milstead Avenue. The home was beautifully decorated with garden flowers. Bridge siippe r was served on the small tables before the game. Five tables were played. Mrs. It. B. Elliott won top score for ladies and Mr. M. L. Mobley won top score for men. Just the members of the Bridge Club were present. MERRY NEEDLE CLUB Miss Verda Harper entertained the Merry Needle Club Thursday after noon at her home on South Main Street. After a pleasant hour of sewing, the hostess Served a delicious salad course with ice ten. Just the members of the dug were present. The home was beautifully decorated with garden flowers. After tlie busi ness session, the hostess entertained her guest with an interesting Yo-Yo contest. Mrs. W. L. King l won tlie prize; a Yo-Yo. BIRTHDAY PARTY On Saturday afternoon Claud Smith jr„ (Billy) entertained a number of his classmates and friends at his home on Rosser Street at party honoring his ninth birthday. In the center of the table surround ed by garden flowers, was the Purge ,eake holding nine candles in pink candle holders. The children present received a candy favor. A number of games were enjoyed.
