ers, of Conyers, Ga., the wedding to
take place November 2S.
Mr. Stowers is the oldest son of Mrs.
Pearl Stowers, and is a rising young
business man of our town. He has a
host of friend® who will be glad to
learn of bis engagement and who wish

LEAGUE SOCIAL
The members of the Epwortli League
had a grand time Friday evening
they met at the home of Misses .Mil
lie and Irene Bowen and were inform
ed they were to attend a progressive
dinner.
Miss Louise Hale gave the clues to
the different homes.
Our first course was soup at the
home of Miss Mary A. Wilson, from
there, we learned sandwiches awaited
us at the home of Miss Emma Royd
Cowan, while there our salad course
was announced and away to Miss Jo
Butler's home we did go, here it was
found* that our next course woul he ice
cream which we found at the City
Pharmacy.
After our dinner, we returned to
Hie home of lb Misses Bowens’ where
musir and promts were enjoyed. Then
came tln- lasi of our dinner, fruit.
Those enjoying the progressive din
