GALLONS whiskey
CAUGHT THIS WEEK
This has been a busy week
for Sheriff Newman and his
newly appointed deputies.
On Tuesday evening Deputy,
Sheriffs Wall and Robertson |
captured two autos containg 34
gallons of wniskey, which had
teen bought on Sand Moun¬
tain. One car wss got at the
foot of the mountain and the
other on the main road lead-
.flg.tatho mountain.
The two gjfs v one a Buick
roadster and the other a Ford
touring car, with the, two
drivers, F B. Jones and L. W.
WameA both of Chattanooga,
were taken to the count# jail
at Trenton-
The two prisoners will not
try to make bend, but will go
soon before Judge Tarver to
plead guilty and receive sen¬
tence.

hospital where he. had his
hand dressed. We are glad to
report him doing nicely.
C. L. Johnson ffas purchased
a sawmill and will start to
work soon.
Roy Johnson made a busi¬
ness trip to Chattanooga this
week.

Obituary
Richard Simpson, aged 76, and
well-known in Dade County,died
a,t a Icpal hospital in
at an early nour Tuesday. He
[ s survived by by two sons: F. B.
Simpson of Chattanooga and
W. M. Simpson of Trenton; and
a daughter, Mrs. Zolly Brown of
Chattanooga. He was a member
0 * the Baptist church. The fun-
eral was Baptist
graveyard at Trenton.

The Woman’s Missionary So¬
ciety of Rising Fawn met at the
home of Mrs. R, L. Cagle, Wed¬
nesday Jan. 7 with the President,
Mrs. Cagle, presiding. Following
the devotional exercise came the
