The day was an interesting
one. Mr. Martins real motive
for coming at this time being
that of urging the teachers to
attend the summer school at
Powder Springs. He made a
fery ardent appeal to the teach¬

Mr Martin complimented the
people of the Trenton school
district and Dade County for
the good work they had done
toward the building of a new
school building and expressed
himself satisfied with the pro¬
gress and also promised to lend
any help that was within his
scope or authority.
We are advised that the bonds

RISING FAWN
ITEMS
Our field agent attended the
play given by the school at
Rising Fawn, Friday evening
last.
Th*? school and town are to be
complimented for their zeal
and excellent work in patting
on the play “Out of Court”.
Our agent ^ays that, while he
did not discover among the
actors in the play any future
William Shakespears, Edwin
Booths, or Joseph JefFersons, he
wishes to make special men¬
tion of W. C. Scruggs, who
played the part of Remis, an
old negro servant; Miss Mabel
Evatt, who played the part of
Mammy Loves her Chillins;
Prof. Martin, who played the
part of the Victim of the Auto
Accident; Miss Thelma McMa¬
han, who played the part of
Evelyn Capell, the Millionairs
daughter. And last he would
make special mention of the
part as Traffic Cop, played by
Sam Colquitt.
The town of Rising Fawn is
supplied with electric lights,
running water piped fresh from
the hills. A spirit of progress¬
iveness seems to pervate the
people, this spirit of forward
movement being manifested by
the working out this week of
the chesme leading from the
pike to the school grounds.
We secured a nice batch of
subscriptions, job work and
advertising, while in the city.
