I notice that 50 of our citizens
have asked for an election in
Dade county on the fence law.
With the amount of land that is
in woodlands I can’t see what we
are thinking about to want the no
fence law. There isn’t one acre
in one hundred cleared anywhere I
in this section, and I wonder who
would get any benefit from this :
law. We couldn’t keep cattle, hogs
or sheep profitably any more, and
just think what an amount of 1

don’t need the no fence law or
the mountain for many years to
come. If all or most all of the
land was in cultivation, then we
could think it advisable to have it
but not now and I hope when the
election comes we can still have
the open range.
