The death of Col. L. N. Tram

of the mogt successful politicians
Georgia has known since the war.
As an organizer of forces. Col.
Trammel never met his equal.
Several Georgia Malitiamen
were daunt to take to the woods af
ter the Governor received inquiries
from the war department concern
ing the malitia.
The boyg can now breathe easy .
The Washington authorities were
only wanting to give them some
money.
A large number of candidates are
in the field as aspirants fora place
on the ticket with Jtr. Bryan. Of
course some of these are very poor
limber —cranks and men who have
made asses of themselves in every
sphere of public life in which they
have entered. Other good men are
aspirants and we can only hope
one of these will secure the nomi
nation.
Wild Cat Whisky.
It is said that at a loc#l coal
mine within less ihau half a doz

whisky can be bought any night
in the week;
Are such notorious violations
of both the state and national
laws to go unpunished?

Dade's Crops.
For nearly ever since May 31st,
the Dade county farmer has seen
a rain, if nothing more than a
shower.
The result is that the corn crops
are vei> much in the weeds, aud
in some instances absolutely
drowned out and completely ruin
ed.
The wheat crop, now most all
out, is beginning to sprout aVid un
less the rain ceases soon, great loss
will be entailed upon this crop.
Fortune is not smiling upon the
Dade county farmer this year.
Ivy poisoning, poison wounds and all

The Teachers.
One who has for the last few
years attended the annual gather
ings of the teachers of Dade county
will tail to see many of the fa
triliar faces whose presence has
added much to the success of for
mer institutes.
Others have come forward who
have taken up the work and are
carrying it on with great success.
The wotk of Miss Mary Jackson,
for the first time acting as expert,
has been often favorably comment
ed upon during the week.
The plain but business-like work
ot Mr. W. C. Cureton ir. the posi

1 awoke last night with severe
pains in my stomache. I never
felt so badly in all my life. When
I came down to work this morning
I felt so weak 1 could hardly work.
I went to Miller & McCurdy’s
drug store and they recommended
Chamberlain’s Colic, Cholera and
Diarrhoea Remedy. It worked
like magic and one dose fixed me
all right. It certainly is the finest
thing I ever used for stomach
trouble. I shall not be without it
in my home hereafter, for I should
not care to endure the sufferings
of last night again for fifty times
its price. —G. H. Wilson, Livery
