Tenth strevt dive, where she wax living with

ThcmpAon. It was given out at Ui* time that
the burning was an accident cause.I by the
explosion ol a krnwen* lamp. The policeman
who responded u> th??* alarm at the time no
ticed that there was only one lamp in the
house and that it was burning as usual aud
without signs of lulling expWded.
I Nellie died in horrible agony. Just before
she passed away ahe told iu fa???int whispers to
the newspaper men and others who were pres
ent, a terrible tale of brutality* Bomo time

store in this city, and ahe privately informed .
the police of it. Friday night Thompson, in
