considered the dreams of a disordered
imagination by even the most en
thusiastic admirer of this good old
town. But the factscannot be denied
or successfully disputed. With nil
these commendable strides to growth
and increase of individual prosperity,
plainly seen, it was a matter of sur
prise as well as astonishment that
while every other kind of business
grew arid multiplied one of the most
essential and universally demanded,
tli'd of a iirst class Meat House was
“missing links.’ 1 Every
citizen (and I say every, because all
eat fresh meats now and then, and
some oftener,) must rejoice in the
fact that Mr. J. B. Pounds 1ms stepped
in and established the great want of
our citizens. He runs a strictly first
class business in his line, keeping the
best of all kinds of fresh meats nicely
butchered, at fair prices, and delivered
to customers. Encourage him.

Speaking of the Boston Quintette

. “This famous combination of ar

audience was a flattering compliment
to their reputation. With regard to
to their performance, there can be
but one thing said, arid that is a word
of superlative praise. Each concert
has been a lofty commentary on the
power of music, an epitome of divine
harmonies.
