Mr. B. T. Bethune has purchased
from J. G. Bearden, the Ailing home
on Liberty street. Mr. Bethune will
occnpy the house after Sept. 1st.
Mrs. W. T. Hines recently underwent
an operation in a hospital in Macon,
and is now rapidly recovering. Her
mother. Mrs. T. L. McComb, has been
with her.
The friends of Mrs. Thos, M. Hall
will be glad to learn that she is doing
well after undergoing a severe opera
tion in a hospital in Macon. Her early
and complete recovery is earnestly
wished for by all our people.
Mr. J. A. Benford announces as a can
didate for County Commissioner. He
believes that the 322nd district should
be represented on the board, He is
going to make an active canvas. He is
well known in the county.
Mr, J. C. Cooper, Baldwin County's
efficient Clerk, will bo a candidate for
re-election and wall announce at an
early date. He hae been faithful iu
the discharge of his duty and is recog
nized as an able Clerk of Court. H s
books are models of neatness and every
detail of the office is administered in ac
cordance with the law.
An address will be delivered in this
city on the evening of March 27tLi,
by a representative of the Tallulah
Falls,Conservation Association. Ful
ler announcement will be made later.
Carr’s Emporium is daily receiving
their spring and summer millinery,
which is composed of the very latest
styles of hats, novelties, etc. The date
of their display will be announced next
week.

Miss Willie Morris and Mr. Sidney
Clyde Bennett, of Jessup, will be
united in marriage, Wednesday,
March 18th.
The ceremony will be.performed by
Rev. Elam F. Dempsey at half-past
ten o'clock,at the home of the bride’s
father, Mr. W. A. Morris, in the pres
ence of relatives and a few invited
guests.
The home will be tastily decorated
with cut flowers and potted plants.
The bride will lie gowned in a travel
ing suit of grey with hat aud gloves
to match.
Miss Morris has recently made her
home iu Jessup, but she has many
relatives and friends in this city, hav
ing previously resided here. She is a
pretty and attractive young lady.
Mr. Bennett is a young man of
splendid character, and is popular
wherever he is known.
Immediately after the ceremony
they will leave for their future home
in Savannah.
