“Lest We Forget”
*.i the rush of our present day
livinv—?n the crowded hours that
make up the lives of most of us—
what could be more acceptable than
a quiet week set apart, where, “fur
from teh madden crowd” we might
possess our souls-in peace and have
time to rcmomln-r that we have
many, blessings. Such n week does
the writer hope may >ome day be a
reality. But if we never start—we
Four years ago, the idea of Ap-
precratvm Week centering around
Thanksgiving Day was started in this
historic city and sponsored by the
Woman's Club. The next year, the
Tenth District adopted the idea, and
here and there over the state various
club- took it up, sometimes giving a
program, sometimes having a special
edition of their local paper to carry
out the idea. It is not supposed to
be a week of special activity—but
of thought and prayer—and thank
fulness. Of trying to not only re
member our own blessings but to help
others do the same, and “Lest We
Forget” to center our activity upon
stressing the Thanksgiving sendee
and reminding our friends of the
day and hour.
Appreciation Week has had the
seal of approval set upon ic by the
Governor of our State, L. G. nard-
mnn. Bishop Wmren A. Candler, Dr.
E. F. Dempsey, Judge James B.
Park. Dr. Duggan, and Willi.-. Sutton,
and many other notables in the re.
ligious and educational world have
given it their endorsement.
Rend the outline of the week which
appears on this page, think about it,
and you will be surprised to know
what blesings have been yours this
past year. Would It not he well to
“Praise God from Whom all Ble-ings
Flow” during this week set aside for
that special purpose? Remember
the sendee on Thanksgiving Day.

A joint celebration of Uncle Remus
and Bird and Arbor Day will be held
by the county schools and various
committees from the organizations
which make up the Baldwin County
Federation—on Friday afternoon,

this joint program has been given
upon this special occasion—as also
upon Gerogia Day—and all of us
have come to look forward to these
two dates—to say nothing of our
Baldwin county Red-Letter Day-
when we hold the annual Sing j n
May.
So—here u something that we ftel
