Thomas Mason, of Elbcrton, Ga. The
marriage took place Sunday at the
Baptist-Pastoiium, Rev. L. C. Roberts
performing the ceremony, in the
presnee of a few relatives and
friends. Immediately after the cere
mony Mr. and Mrs. Mason left_ for
their future home in Elberton.

at the Colonial Theatre all next week
and hundreds of people from Middle
Georgia arc expected to be attract
ed here.
The picture is in all tcchinocolor
and features many popular songs. It
has been shown in the cities at prices
exceeding one dollar, but Manager
Curry has announced thal the popu
lar prices will be charged here.
The music and vivid color combined
with the thrilling action has made
the picture very popular and much
talked about. The Colonial is the
first Theatre in a small city to show
| the picture, again demonstrating the
I superiority of the Colonial.

come back here Wednesday to spend

Miss Gertrude Jones was honored
with two delightful showers before
her marriage Sunday to Mr. Tom
Mason of Elberton- The one was a
miscellaneous shower, given by Mrs.
T. T. Hardman-and Mrs. O. B. Twil-
ley, at the home of the former. The
other was a surprise kitchen show-
given by Mrs. Ralph Graham of
the home of her mother.
On last Sunday evening at 7 o’clock
the Epworth League threw open its
doors to all former officers of the
League and visitors, the occasion be
ing the 40th anniversary of the Ep
worth League.
The League colors, yellow and
white, were carried out in the deco
rations. Chairs were arranged »n the
shape of a Maltese cross, the League
emblem. And a violet, the League
flower was pinned on every one ns
they entered.
Very appropriate Bible references,
talks, and songs were included in the
program, which was conducted by
Miss Elizabeth Paschal. The feature
of the hour, however, was the large
white iced cake, topped with small
yellow candles. Near the end of the
program the lights were turned out
and the candles lit by Miss Elizabth
Paschal, while an orchestra played
“The Old Rugged Cross.” The Dox-
ology and League Benediction con
cluded the program.

Miss Leone Frederickson. whose
marriage to Dr. W. F. Dobyns will
be a quiet event next Wednesday, was
the honor guest at a ’.inen shower on
Tuesday afternoon at the home of
Mrs. U. S. Bowen.
Quantities of lilacs, violets and
peach blossoms were gracefully used
to carry out a color tchcme of
lavender and pink. The place cards
and tallies were designed with a pic
ture of a bride.
After several games of bridge, lit
tle Richard Bowen came into the
room drawing a beautifuly decorat
ed wagon filled with many beautiful
gifts for the bride elect.
