AT LUNCHEON.
Mrs. H. D. Allen entertained on
Tuesday at a luncheon in honor of
Mrs. J. C. Boykin, of Washington,
D. C., and Miss Sally Brown, of At
lanta. who is the guest of Mrs. John
Shinholser.
In the dining room where covers
were laid for fourteen, yellow chry
santhemums were artistically used
in decoration carrying out a color
motif of yellow and green. The cen
ter piece was n handsome silver bowl
filled with small yellow chrysanthe
mums.
A delicious five course luncheon
was served.
LITTLE BETH BASS CELEBRATES
BIRTHDAY.
Little Beth Bass, the daughter of
Mr. and Mr*. Ed Bass, celebrated
her second birthday on last Friday
afternoon with a party in honor of
many of her little friends.
After a number of enjoyable
gzims, the children enjoyed a Jack
Horner pic and from it received
r.’fts. A large birthday cake was
brought in and after little Beth had
blown out the candlrs, the cake wus
cut and enjoyed with ice cream.

The exercises sponsered by the
Children of Confederacy which will
include the planting of two trees, on
the G. M. C. campus commemorating
the Bi-c>-ntennib! of George Wash
ington's bir*h have been postponed
until Friday afternoon at four
o’clock.
The uxercises were announced for
Tuesday afternoon but rain and cold,
Weather forced a postponement. Col.
Marion Ennis will be the principal
speaker at the impressive program.

this week sent a large squad through
long drills in preparation for the

16th, with G. A. B. of Macon.
Coach Slap P.^ntz is arranging
schedule which will bring the lead
ing teams of the state here and
take the team on a number of trips.
The basket ball court has been
enlarged and repaired and is
cellent condition for the approach
ing season.
