Davis Carr, of Milledgcville. which

wedding at the Baptist church
in Ocilla.
This young couple represent well

have been identified with the religi
ous and educational building of
Georgia.
Miss Meeks is the lovely young
daughter of Mrs. Lillian Meeks and
the late Mr. F. W. Meeks of Ocilla,
where she was bom and reared. She
graduated from the high school, af
terwards attended G. S. C. W. in
Milledgeville. Her scholastic record
was fine, she recevied a Normal Di
ploma in 1931 and B; S. Degree in
Education in 1933. While a student
there her high standing as a musici
an was marked. She attained distinc
tion as a gifted pianist and affiliat
with all musical activities on the
campus and was a recognized artist
in this cultural art.
Since her graduation she has
taught for the past year.
Her mother was Miss Lillian Ox
ford before her marriage and from
her ma’emal and paternal ancestry
of Minors and Oxfords they were
prominent both in religious grid the
educational building of Hancock and
Baldwin counties.
Mr. Carr is a young man of ex
cellent character and unusual abilitv

He has a wide circle of friends in
Baldwin county and is recognized as
one of the outstanding young men.
