Miss Julia Moore, principal, with
the aid of the tcarhers of the gram
mar school of G. M. C.. has arranged
a most interesting commencement
program which begins on Wednes
day evening May 22nd when the
pupils of the primary grades will
present an operetta. ‘‘Betty’s Birth
day Party." The play begins at
eight o’clock in the grammar school
auditorium and the public is invit
ed. No admission will be charged.
Over a hundred children will take
part and the operetta will be most
colorful and interesting.
On Thursday evening. May 23. the
intermediate grades of the school will
present a program. This program
begins at 8:30 in the school audi
torium. rhe program will open with
a selection by the grammar grades

his home in Macon on Saturday.

EXTENDED TO FEB. 1, 1936

Government loans of 12 cents
pound on cotton will not fall due un
til February 1. 1936. the Commodity
Credit Corporation announced last
week in extending the maturity date
on these loans from July 31, 1935.
At the same time, the AAA an
nounced that direct loans on cotton
eligible under the 12-cent loan plan
will be available to producers until
July 1. 1935.
On the day this announcement
was marii-. the latest figures avail
able. those of May 10. showed that
total cotton loans amounted to $268.-
868. 8886 on 4.406.787 bales of cot
ton. Of this amount, only $36,537.-
719.56 rn 594,894 bales actually had
been disbursed, the balance of the
notes being held by bank
