A sneak thief entered the resi
dence of Mrs. Mattie Butts last
Tuesday evening and stole her
purse containing $15. The purse was
found Friday near the Ice factory.
Messrs D. S. Sanford, E. R. Hines

of last week in Atlanta, where they
argued cases before the Suprenv
Court.

recently been detailed as
man dant of cadets and instructor of
military science in the Georgia
Military College, arrived in the city
last Saturday. He was accompanied
by Mrs. Spence, and is here for tne
purpose of making all his arrange
ments to move to the city.
The quarterly conference of the
Methodist church was held at the
parsonage Friday night. Dr. John
W. Hsidt presiding. The reports
showed that the financial condition
of the church was in splendid con
dition. Dr. E. A. Tigner and Mr.
Henry Goodman were elected dele
gates to the Oxford district confer
ence. which meets in Lithonia In
June.
Misses Louise and Annie Case
entertained the members of
Original Thirteen, at their elegant
home on Jefferson street, last Thurs
day afternoon. The occasion was ;
pleasant one. Delightful re
freshments were served.
Louis Hall entertained the

last Tuesday afternoon at her lovely

requested to bring a package, some
article of small value, which war
