Notice is hereby given that the
Baldwin County Board of Educa
tion has called an election of
School Trustees on Wednesday, Oc
tober 16. 1935, between the hours of
9:00 A. M. and 3:00 P. M., Eastern
Standard Time, and under the rules
ajid regulations governing special
elections in the State of Georgia.
Elections will be held in the fol
lowing School Districts to succeed
the following Trustees whose terms
have expired:
EAST DISTRICT: To succeed H.
G. Posey and S. B. Blizzard.
MIDWAY DISTRICT: To succeed
D. C. Leaptrott and A. E. Bonner.
COOPERVIIXE DISTRICT: To
succeed F. D. Pierce.

TAX LEVY BALDWIN COUNTY
Upon motion the following order
levying taxes for County purposes
for the year 1935 was passed.
Whereas, the state tax for the y
1935 has been levied by the proper
authorities, which tax has been fixed
at four mills on each dollar of tax
able property in said state; and.
Whereas, the total values of prop
erty returned for taxation in Bald
win Count’' for the year 1935 is S4,-
455.152.00.
It is. therefore, considered, order
ed and adjudged that there be
levied, and there is hereby levied,
upon all property returned for tax
ation in Baldwin County and upon
all property in said County, subject
to taxation, a tax of 1 1-2 percent,
that is to say, a tax of 15 mills, up
on each dollar of the value there
of, which levy is made for Count
purposes for the year 1935. and is
in addition to the school taxc:
hereinafter levied.
Said County tax is levied for the
following purposes and in the fol
lowing amounts:
1. To pay Jurors, a tax of 4|100
per cent or .40 mills.
2. To pay Bailiffs, a tax of 5)1000

3. To pay for inquests, a tax of
2|1000 per cent or .02 mills.
4. To support prisoners in jail, a
tax of 4)100 per cent or .40 mills.

per cent or .93 mills.
7. To furnish supplies for County
Officers, a tax oi 2)100 per cent or

8. To construct and repair public
roads, a tax of 4)10 per cent 4 90
mills.
9. To pay the salary and expense
of the Health Commissioner, a tax
1)10 per cent or 1.C0 mills.
10. To build and repair public
bridges, a tax of 3)10 per cent or
3.00 mills.
11. To repair public buildings, a
tax of 410 per cent or 4.00 mills.
TOTAL—15.00 mills.
In addition to the above tax it is
ordered that theae be levied and as
sessed upon each dollar of the
value of taxable property in said
County a tax of 5|10 or S mills for
the support of the public schools of
said County for the year 1935.
And that there be levied and as
sessed upon each dollar of the value
of taxable property in the Midway
School District of said County a tax
of 1)20 per cent or 1-2 mill for the
support of the public schools in said
district for the year 1935.
And the Tax Collector of said
County is ordered to assess and
collect for the use of the County and
the schools of said County the taxes
herein before levied.
This order passed in open Court,

Under and by virtue of a power
of sale contained in deed to secure
debt, executed by Thomas Har
ris, who has since died, dated Janu
ary the 30th, 1928, conveying the

ledgeville, Georgia, and said Bank
thereafter on the 22nd, day of March,
1930, having transferred, assigned,

said deed to secure a debt, to E. C.
Kidd, of said State and County,
which deed is recorded in the office
of the Clerk of the Superior Court

said Thomas Harris and payable to
the order dt the Merchants & Farm
ers Bank, of MilledgeviUe, Georgia,
for the principal sum of $226.50, and
which note wap as hereinbefore
stated tran iferred and assigned to
E. C. Kidd, and there la now a bal-
due on said note of $148.10, to
gether with interest due thereon,
and State and County taxes.
The said sale will be made for the
purpose* of paying the balance due
the promissory note above de
scribed, the interest due thereon
State and County taxes, and the cost
of this proceeding.
Since the making of the above
deed, the said Thomas Harris has
died, and after paying the above
described debt, state and county
and the cost of this proceeding,
the balance of the purchase money
if any, will be paid to the heirs or
ignees of Thomas Harris, or to
his personal representative.
A conveyance will t>e executed to
the purchaser by the undersigned as
authorized by said deed.
