who has been seriously ill at the City
Hospital following a major opera
tion. is improving and will be dis
missed from the hospiUl within a
few days.
Miss Floride Allen and Mrs. Mar
tha Sibley are spending this week
in New York City. Mrs. Sibley went
to New York to visit the schools of
the city in connection with her work
at G. S. C. W.
Rev. Horace S. Smith spent Tues
day in Atlanta, where he attended
meeting of the executive committee
of the board of missions of the North
Georgia Conference. Mr. Smith
chairman of the board.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Vaughan and
Mrs. T. C. Brantley, spent Sunday
in Atlanta where they attended the
funeral of Mrs. C. B. Ryle. Mrs. Ryle
will be remembered here as Miss
Rosa Lockhart. Mrs. Ryle attended
G. M. C. in her young girlhood.
Miss Lucy Hatcher spent the week
end in Atlanta where she attended
the Gcorgia-Tech game and after
wards was a guest at a party given
Mr. James Roosevelt, son o. the
President. She also went to the rli -
dance at the piedmont Driving
Club.
Rev. and Mrs. F. H. Harding arc
in Rome visiting their little grand
Julius Holt. Jr., and his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Julius Holt. They will
return to the city the latter part of
the week and Mr. Harding will con
duct the regular services at St.
Stephens Episcopal church next
Sunday.
Mr and Mrs. Fred Josey are the
parents ot a girl, born at tbe Middle
Georgia Sanitorium, Macon, Monday.
December 9th. The baby has been
named Frances Elizabeth for her
two grandmothers. Mrs. Josey is re
membered here as Miss Mary Eber-
hart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben
Eberhart.

several months at the State Hospi
tal where Mr. Scofitld is hi charge

heating and power plant. They have
an apartment in the center building.

thy of her many frienas here in the
death of her brother, Mr. Snead
Gibson, which occurred last week.
Mr. and Mrs Bivins went to Mi
ami Thursday and attended the fun
eral services which were held on
Saturday.

Redding, a member cf the faculty of
the Peabody school, will be glad to
learn that she is improving at St.
Vincent’s hospital, in Jacksonville.
Florida. Miss Redding recently un
derwent an operation there, but she
expected to return to her posi
tion after the Christmas vacation.

Harper, head of the school, was in
charge.
Miss Mabry Harper spoke of cloth

esting way tcld of the proper cloth
ing of the child.
The next meeting will be held
January 14.
