One cf the major changes in the

the adoption of a strictly track-type

Vital in the construction of the
1936 line of Dodge tracks and com
mercial cars is “pre-proved" eco
nomy which permits noticeable sav
ings in fuel and oil. This is made
possible through the development of
six major mechanical features and
advantages. They are: Aluminum al

length water jackets, valve seat in
serts. spray cooled t-xhaust valve
seats and spedal oil moling.
Springs of the new trucks are of
Amola steel, a recent metallurgical
development of the Chrysler Corpo

resisting qualities and furnishes an
additional factor of safety.
Offered throughout this line is a
wide range O' axle ratios, coupled
with three, four and five speed
transmissions, as well as several
wheelbase lengths. Practically any

state experienced corresponding lows
The red lands in north Georgia,
adapted to wheat and oat crops,
were expected to sdfer from the
freeze and winter crops in that area
also were expected to be damaged.
The severe attack brought a taste
of the cold weather in the midwest
where 30 to 50 below has been com
mon ter weeks. In that section the
low temperatures froze the faces of j
snow plow crews bent on rescuing j
imprisoned communitie* or farm'
homes. Chicago, for instance, had
just experienced its lowest 30 day
temperature in the histoi / of the ^
weather bureau there.
This week brought death to two
prominent citizens of the state. Ralph
T. Birdsey. 60. treasurer of the
Birdsev Flour Mills of Macon, and
Mrs. James B. Park. 79. wife of the
Judge of the Ocmuleeo Circuit. Mr
Birdsey had been suffering from
pneumonia and complications. Mrs.

TO make a tight-fitting job when
■ renewing auto-hose connections,
get a length of hose in a size just a
little too small to be forced over the
nipples of the radiator tank and en
gine block. To swell the md.; of the
hose sufficiently to enable them to
be slipped over the nipples, soak the
ends in gasoline for about an hour.
Slip the ends into place. Adjust the
clamps after the gasoline has evap
orated, when it will be found that
the hose has a tight grip on the
nipples. Do not Use hose having wire
or unusually heavy fabric reinforce
ments.
*Open seams in the casing are
usually responsible when a muffler
suddenly becomes noisy. The leaky
scams can be distinguished by the
soot-blackened appearance, and can
easily be sealed with ordinary as
bestos furnace cement.
