The March meeting of the Amer
ican Legion Auxiliary will be held
on Tuesdya afternoon at 3:30 at the
home of Mrs. T. H. Rentz. The other
hostesses with Mrs. Rentz will be

phrey, Mrs. W. T. Garrard and Mrs.
J. F. Muldrow. Community - Service
is the subject and Mrs. Sam Terry,

tained the members of Milledgeville
Juvenile Music Club on hex- twelfth
birthday, Saturday afternoon, Feb
ruary 22nd. A school bus was sent
to town for the children and their
counselor. Mrs. Porter, after greet
ing Miss Martha with the song.
"Happy Birthday", the president.
Miss Mary Jewell Teresi presided
at the usual business meeting. The
program that followed consisted of a
paper on the life of George Wash
ington, by Miss Eula Flake Patman,
and various musical selections, many
of which were popular in Washing
ton’s time. At ’he conclusion of the
program the young guests were in
vited into the dining room where
delicious refreshments were served
by Mrs. Chandler, assisted by Mrs.
W. F. Williamson. In the center of
the table, most attractive with a
lace doth was a large birthday cake
decorated with red cherries and
tepers. Tall red candles completed
the centerpiece. At each place a lit
tle colonial dame in red and white
costume held a place card with
these names written on a miniture
music staff and there were also
candy basket favors representing
the historical cherry tree, with
tiny red white and blue axe insei

ROYAL AMBASADOR HOLD
INITIATION SERVICE
The Scott Patterson Order of the
Royal Ambassadors will meet Fri
day night at 8:00 at tlie home of
Roy Nelson. All members are urged
to be present. Be sure to memorize
the "Commission and Declarator’’
and also the “.Allegiance.”
Saturday afternoon at 2:00 a very
impressivt- initiation service was
held at Nesbitt Woods for the boys
jf the Scott Patterson Order of the
Royal Ambassadors.
At this t;me a number of secrets
were entrusted to the following
members who were initiated into
the real significance of the order:
Ed Athon, Billy Hargrove. Joe Mul-
drow, Roy Nelson, Charles Roberts.
Billy Schloenbaeh, and Jimmie Tr
resi.
It is the wish of the Counselor
that the members of this order
might feel that they are a part of
the order and in that way strive to
give otf their best to this worthy
cause.

The High School boys are interest-
I in remodeling the basketball
court. In making an enquiry for die
necessary substantual timbers caused
a few days delay. Through I
generosity of Mr. J. L. Flanders
furnishing several original yellow
pine sills, and Mr. Howard West in
furnishing a team for hauling them
the basketball court is being rapidly
completed.
After the completion of the
basketball court the boys will also
use a part of their leisure time in
planning and building swings for
the grammar grades playground.

Presbyterian Church
Rev. R. W. Oakev. pastor oi the
church, will conduct the usual ser
vices on next Sunday. At the morn
ing service he will ha.’e as his ser
mon subject, "Not Ashamed of the
Gospel." The theme of the evening
hour will be, "The Temptation of
Christ."
Episcopal Ctaarch
Rev. F. H. Harding, Rector, will
conduct the usual first Sunday of
the month service with a celebra
tion of the Holy Communion and
sermon at the 11:30 hour. There will
be no early morning service. Sendees
will be held on Friday aften.oon at
five o’clock.
Methodist church
At the -morning service the Hob
Communion will be celebrated by
the pastor. Rev. Horace Smith. He
will deliver a brief communion mes
sage on the subject, "Three Crosses”.

Christ?” and will be on the subject

Lenten devotions both Wednesday
and Friday evenings at 8. Wednesday
evening the sermon will be on the
subject, "The Way of Faith."
