Cotton —The sales for the week have been very limited
and prices irregular, most sales have been made on a basis
of 6 a cents for Middlings.
New York, Jan. 3.
Cotton has been more active to-day, with a slight de
cline in prices.
Flour is lower. Ohio is selling at $9.81.
New York, Jan. 5.
The New Yoik Cotton market is a trifle higher. Mid
dling O. leans commands cents. Flour is lower, aid
Ohio is quoted at $9.31 to 9.75 per bbl.
Atlanta, Jan. 3.
COTTON.—We have no change to notice —Ordinal y
4 a Good article in demaud at 6 a 6£.
Charleston, Jan. 4.
The Charleston Cotton market has advanetd during the
week from |to J cent on most qualities. The sales com
prise 10,60 U bales. Middling lair is quoted at
good inidding at 7J to 8 cents. The receipts for the week
are 9 800 balss, and the stock on hand, exclusive of that
on shipboard, is 31,000 bales.
Rice. —R'oe has advanced 23c. per hundred pounls ;
Ordinary to Fair commands s3£ to s3g, and Good to
Prime from $4 to s4^.
Freights. —Freights on Cotton to Liverpool are quoted
at 5-1 (id. Nothing Soidingfor Havre.

low (being nearly 5 feet high) and chunky. In con
vernation he is quick spoken. His complexion is dark.
He is well known about Columbus—havincr been hir
ed at the Oglethorpe House in 1850, and at Kirkland’s Livery
S able,in Girard, 1851 and 52—and isdoubtless in that neigh
borhood, oremleavorimr to make his way thither.
I will give the above reward for his safe lodgment in any
