I MARIUED,
On Wednesday morning, December sth. by the Rer.
■i\ McMurray, Mr. Calvin Calhoun, of ‘I albot county,
Wand Mies Ann Miller, daughter of John Miller, of Harris
r county, Ga.
DIED,
In this city, on the morning of the 25th December, Mr.
f Thomas Ross, of Boston, (Mass.)
He left his northern home, to find
An air more pure and warm,
To bring the life blood to his cheek,
Strength to his wasted form.
Hut. vain for him the balmy breeze,
Soft as a southern spring ;
It failed his aching frame to clieer,
It could no Measure bring.
Vain were the teats and prayers of one,
Who watched beside his bed ;
Who wip’d the death damps from hiabtow,
Pillowed his dying head.
He patiently, from day to day,
His wasting sickness bore,
While full of hope, that health and strength
Would visit hwn once more.
. He passed away as early dawn
Burst through the shades of night;
And when earth’s morning met our ayes,
His saw celestial light.
He sleeps in death—his quiet grave
Warmed by a southern sun ;
Help us, O God ! with grace to say,
“Thy will, not ours, be done.”
Wjrms! Worms! —Various theories have been started
relative to the origin of intestinal worms, and yet
the question is still a vexed one among medical authori- (
ties Os one fact, however, ail are informed, and in which
all agree—the fatal nature of the influence they exert on
cnildren. At this season of the year, the attacks of worm
are most frequent as well as most dangerous. We take
great pleasure in directing the attention of parents to the
Vermifuge of Dr. M’Lane. It is one of the most extraor
dinary medicines ever introduced to the public, and has
never failed of succoss when tried.
Purchasers will please be caretnl to ask for DR.M’LANF.’S
CELEBRATED VERMIFUGE, and take none else. All other
Vermifuges, in comparison, are worthless. Dr. M'Lane’s gen
uine Vermifuge, also his Celebrated Liver Pills, can low
be had at all respectable DrugStoresiu the United states and
Canada.
