Paul Broun Offers Essay Contest On Virtues In State Pledge High school students in the 10th Congressional District can win a state flag, a copy of the Georgia Constitution and have their picture made with Rep. Paul Broun — all for winning an essay contest. Broun, who represents Jackson and 20 other counties in the U.S . Congress, has announced the contest. Students are asked to write up to 250 words on the importance of one of the virtues mentioned in the pledge of alle giance to the Georgia Flag. Those virtues are wisdom, justice and moderation and are listed across the banner that wraps around the arch on the state seal. The rules are simple: • essays must be submitted by e-mail to essay@paulbroun.com •essays must be typed, prefer ably in MS Word, and double spaced and be no more than 250 words •include contact information and write one paragraph at the end of the essay about your favorite high school teacher or administrator and how they have influenced your life Winners will receive a flag, a copy of the Constitution and a signed photo with Broun and their favorite teacher or admin istrator. The deadline for Jackson County students is March 14. Madison County students have until March 11, and Banks County students must turn in their essays by Feb. 26.
