Municipal Police Make 14 Arrests During Past Week Tackson County Incidents Vandals Target Three Churches JEFFERSON - Vandalism has been reported at three county churches in the past week. Vandals turned over headstones at the Dry Pond United Method ist Church, according to an inci dent report filed at the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. Church leaders estimated there was $600 in damages to 10 headstones in the cemetery. In another incident, someone broke the windows in the church van at Oconee Baptist Church. A report was also filed about an incident at Brockton Road Bap tist Church. Someone spun in the grass on the ball field. Other incidents reported last week include the following: • a Jefferson man said her boy friend assaulted her when she told him that she didn’t want to see him anymore. • CD player taken from a vehi cle at a Hwy. 441 South location. • truck stolen from a Hwy. 441 South, Commerce, address. •candy taken from a Martin Futher King Jr. Ave., Jefferson, location. • dispute between a couple at a Talmo residence. •porch damaged on a rental home at a Shadow Fane Center address. •copper wire taken from a home under construction at a Meadow Fane Terrace, Brasel- ton, address. • hit and run accident at a Hwy. 129 location. •two motors and rods and reels taken from a Favista Road, Athens, address. •dispute between a married couple, who are separated, at a South Jackson residence. •copper pipe taken from a home on Masters Way, Athens. •vehicle damaged at a Com merce Road, Athens, business. •trespassing at an Ivie Creek Drive, Nicholson, residence. • domestic dispute between a woman and her adult son at a Church Street, Nicholson, loca tion. •verbal dispute at a Favender Road, Jefferson, address. •dispute between a man and woman at an Oliver Circle, Ath ens, location. • assault at a Fuller Road, Ath ens, location. •fraud reported at a Wilhite Road, Jefferson, address. •tools taken from a Hwy. 441 South, Commerce, address. • copper wire taken from a new home site on Jackson Trail Road. •vandalism at a vacant home on Pocket Road, Braselton. • pressure washer taken from a Mary Collier Road, Athens, loca tion. • domestic dispute between a couple at a King Road, Com merce, residence. •hit and run accident at a Tal Phillips Road location. • mailbox damaged at a Storey Fane, Jefferson, address. •assault at a Meadow hark Way, Maysville, location. •hit and run accident at a Ridgeway Church Road address.
