The East Jackson Eagles tennis teams contin
ued to show promise, despite a loss by both
the boys and girls teams last week to Fannin
County.
They’ll host Commerce today (Wednesday)
beginning at 3:30 p.m.
East Jackson played host to the Fannin County
Rebels last Thursday. Both teams had hoped to
pick up their first wins of the season, but it didn’t
work out that way, as the girls lost 4-1, and the
boys lost 5-0.
For the girls, number two doubles pair Erica
Turner and Dane Gaillard won two out of three
tiebreakers against the Rebels. On the boys’ side,
while there were no winners, several matches
went down to tiebreakers.
Following the Commerce pairing, the Eagles
are scheduled to play Banks County on Thursday,
with the boys set to play at home, and the girls
scheduled to play in Homer. Both matches start
at 4 p.m.
