19, 2008, at his residence, follow
ing a brief illness.
Mr. Patrick was preceded in

Douglas Clack
Douglas Craig Clack, 47, of
Commerce, died Monday, April
14, 2008, from injuries received in
an industrial accident.
He was the son of Evelyn W.
Clack of Commerce and the late
Darrell C. Clack.

James Paris
James A. Paris Sr., 71, of Winder,
died Wednesday, April 16, 2008.
He was born in Schuyler, N.Y.,
the son of the late John N. and
Kathleen T. Paris.
He was retired from
the City of Winder,
the street depart
ment, and was
a veteran, having served in the
United States Marine Corp. “Papa
you are loved, will be missed and
will always be our guardian angel,”
loved ones stated.

John Evans
John H. Evans, 82, of Commerce,
died Wednesday, April 16, 2007,
at the Athens Regional Medical
Center, following an extended ill
ness.
Mr. Evans was preceded in death
by his wife, Ruby Hanley Evans,
and was a World War II veteran.
Survivors include a son, Paul
O’Kelley, Maysville; daughters,
Vivian Cromer,
Commerce, Diane
Swaim, Danielsville,
and Martha
Watkins, Mooresville, N.C.; sister,
Martha Tanner, Commerce; and
a number of grandchildren, great
grandchildren and great-great-
grandchildren.

Saturday, April 19, in the chapel
of Ivie Funeral Home with the
Revs. Chad Payne and Wendell
Hanley officiating. Burial was in
the Beaverdam Baptist Church
Cemetery.

Infant Emma Teaghan Presley,
daughter of Mitchell and Tara
Presley of Maysville, died at birth
on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at
BJC Hospital in Commerce.

Lewis W. Grant Jr., 56, of
Demorest, died Friday, April 18,
2008, in Commerce.
He was born on July 17, 1951, in
Gulf County, Fla., the son of the
late Lewis Willard Sr. and Sarah
Porter Grant. He was a member of
the Demorest Baptist Church and
was employed with Baker Taylor

Mary Ruth Wall, 83, of Winder,
died Saturday, April 19, 2008.
Born in Jackson County, she
was the daughter of the late C.E.
and Ina Irene Evans Pharr. She
was a homemaker and a member
of the Midway United Methodist
Church. She prided herself with
crocheting and home canning
and gardening, loved ones stated.
Mrs. Wall was preceded in death
by her husband, Curtis Calvin
Wall; and an infant son.
Survivors include sister-in-law,
Nettie Lee Bradford, Winder; and
special friends, Glenn, Cyndee
and Lee McDaniel, all of Winder,
and Tom and Betty Wilbanks,
Jefferson.

Sarah Frances Little, 72, of

2008.
She was born in Jackson
County, the daughter of Ida Smith
of Cleveland and the late Walter
Smith. She was a homemaker and
a member of Oak Grove Baptist
Church. Mrs. Little was preceded
in death by her husband, Grady
E. Little.
Survivors in addition to her
mother, include sons and daugh-
ters-in-law, Dale and Kay Little
and David and Lynn Little, all of
Jefferson; a brother, Robert Smith,
Gainesville; sisters, Carolyn
Smith, Cleveland, and Lois Nix,

2008.
He was born in Silver Creek,

Billie Aldridge
Billie Hopkins Aldridge, 81, of
Woodstock, died Tuesday, April
15, 2008.
She grew up in Athens and was
a L.P.N., serving patients in many
nursing homes. She was a 33-year
member of Green Acres Baptist
Church in Smyrna, and was cur
rently a member of First Baptist
Church-Woodstock.
Survivors include a son,
Johnny Hopkins, San Antonio,
Texas; daughters, Linda Cantrell,
Canton, Susan Popham, White,
and Patricia Little, Snellville;
brother, Carter Bryan, Nashville,
Tenn.; and sisters, Betty Sorrow,
Commerce, and Katie Graham,
Jacksonville; seven grandchildren;
and 13 great-grandchildren.

Jack Couch
Jack Warren Couch, 87, of
Lawrenceville, died Sunday, April
13, 2008, following an extended
illness.
Born on November 23, 1920, in
Clarke County, he was the son of
the late Howard Dewey and Lucy
Belle Epps Couch.
He graduated from
Athens Georgia
High School in 1938
and received an LLB from John
Marshall Law School in June 1958.
He retired from Lockheed Aircraft
Corporation as material adminis
trator in 1983. He was a veteran,
having served in the United States
Marine Corps during World War
II in the Pacific in 1942. Mr. Couch
will be remembered for his quick
wit and the love and care he
gave his extended family over the
years, loved ones stated. He was
preceded in death by his wife of
63 years, Jamie Tate Couch; and a
brother, Dr. Randall Epps Couch.
He was the grandson of Early
Oscar Epps and Annie Herndon
Epps, and Henry Crawford Couch
and Sarah Graves Couch, great-
grandson of Thomas North Epps
and C. Penelope Jennings Epps,
great-great-grandson of William
and Sarah Alexander Epps.
Survivors include daughters,
Deborah C. Ford, Lawrenceville,
and Donna C. Guyton, Maysville;
six grandchildren; nine great
grandchildren; six great-great-
grandchildren; nieces, nephews
and cousins.

She was born on June 4, 1932,
the daughter of the late Harrison
and Odessa Damons. She was
a faithful member of Maxey Hill
Baptist Church, where she served
until her health prevented her
from attending.
Survivors include her husband,

Mary Chandler, both of Jefferson,
