with performances by the
Galilee Christian Church Adult
Choir and the Galilee Ringers on

Miles Adams directs the Galilee
choir. Adams is the band director
at JCCHS and has served as
church choral director for many
years.
Don Brandon directs the
Galilee Ringers. Brandon has
served as associate minister at
Galilee for four years and orga
nized the ensemble.

Herbert, pastor of Hudson
River Baptist Church, wel
comed guests on behalf of
the Tri-County Ministerial
Association, and the Rev.
Paul Vickery, pastor of New
Brown, Andrew Mitchell and
Oscar Aguilar.
At the service, J. David Hawks
of Commerce, a Gideon, will
bring an annual report of Gideon
ministries.
The Rev. James McLendon will
preach on the subject “called to
unity and service’’ (II Corinthians
13:11 - 13) as part of Trinity
Sunday observances.

At Homer UMC
Homer United Methodist
Church honored two groups of
mothers, one at each morning
Prospect Baptist Church, led
the opening prayer.

Rick Lewis, director of the
Commerce Public Works
Department and director of
New Haven Baptist Church,
Athens, was the keynote
speaker.
The group divided into small
er groups to offer prayers for
the revival of the nation, for
local and national leaders and
for any other needs.
The National Day of Prayer is
observed on the first Thursday
of May each year.
