EJCHS Announces Winners Of Art Show
East Jackson Comprehensive
High School held its inaugural
student spring art show May
12-17.
The best of show winner was
Joseph McCann, a sophomore,
for his pencil portrait.
The principal’s choice award
was given to Nicole Absher, a
junior, for her acrylic painting of
“Soaring with the Eagles."
School officials plan to make
the art show an annual spring
event at EJCHS.

Nancy Akin, art instructor,
organized the event and show
cased the students’ art work.
“I am very proud of my students
and the hard work they put forth
this first year at East Jackson,"
Akin said. “There are so many
talented young artists at EJCHS.
Their creativeness amazes me
beyond words some days."

recently visited Commerce Middle School to get a tour of the

Pirates On A Treasure Hunt
After students in Rhonda Adams’first grade class at Commerce
Primary School had read the Magic Tree House book, “Pirates
Past Noon,” the class went on a treasure hunt around the school.
