Monday afternoon accident on Maysville Road
Jackson Airport Manager Reports Threats
A 30-year-old Commerce
woman was banned from the
city pool for five years after
a dispute that resulted in her
arrest for disorderly conduct.
According to the incident
report Jessica Nickole Harrison,
104 Harrison Lane, had dropped
off five kids at the pool under
the supervision of a 15-year-old.
Pool staff confronted her, and
Harrison allegedly began argu
ing with another woman who
was at the pool with her kids,
shouting and cursing.
When the officer arrived,
Harrison was getting into her
van, and the officer asked her
what was going, to which she
replied that she did not know
what he was talking about. The
officer said Harrison became
“confrontational” and he warned
her to calm down or risk being
arrested and taken to jail, to
which she replied, “Let’s go.”
The officer arrested her, and
the pool manager had him issue
a criminal trespass warning ban
ning her from the pool for five
years.
The officer pointed out that
the entire incident took place in
front of at least 10 juveniles.
Others arrested or cited dur
ing the past week include:
•Brittany Pressley, 18, 102
Willoughby Homes, disorderly
conduct. The incident report
said that during an investigation
of a domestic dispute at her resi
dence, she was “loud, argumen
tative and uncooperative.”
•Sidiyq M. Leonard, 23, 4521,
N. Carlisle Street, Philadelphia,
PA, violation of the “move-over
law” and driving with a suspend
ed license.
•Tiffany Ann Hill, 27, 184
Cedar Drive, Nicholson, driv
ing under the influence (DUI)
of drugs and DUI-endangering
the life of a child. When asked
if she’d been drinking, the
report said Hill responded, “No.
I would not drink and drive
with my daughter in the car.”
The report said she admit
ted taking Methadone and
Citalopram earlier. The officer
reported finding prescription
containers in her pocketbook
for Citalopram, Trazodone,
Hydrochlorothiazide and
Methocarbamol.
•Ronald Dean Harbert, 44,
101 Village Main, Anderson, SC,
DUI, impersonating a police
officer and speeding. The offi
cer reported clocking Harbert
at 75-80 miles per hour on the
bypass and, upon pulling him
over, seeing a specialty “law
enforcement” tag on the vehi
cle. The officer reported smell
ing alcohol when Harbert rolled
down the window, but the sus
pect denied drinking on three
different occasions, saying his
diabetes prohibited him from
drinking. He ultimately admit
ted to drinking “two beers” ear
lier, the report said. According
to the officer, Harbert claimed
to be with the Anderson County
Sheriff’s Office, but had no
identification to substantiate the
claim and could not provide a
number by which police could
confirm it. Eventually, the report
indicated that an Anderson
County official told city police
that Harbert may have worked
with the department some time
ago, but his employment was
“terminated.” The report said the
source was “99 percent sure he
is not a police officer.” Officials
reportedly found a set of hand
cuffs and a red emergency light
in the car.
•Angela Rene Feagin, 39,
779 James Huff Road, Monroe,
theft by shoplifting after she
and a male accomplice alleg
edly walked out of Ingles with
11 items of cosmetics, four
packs of ribeye steaks and two
packs of cheddar cheese. The
two got into a vehicle and left,
whereupon the woman’s pock
etbook fell out of the car where
store personnel retrieved it —
and found most of the stolen
items. A Jackson County deputy
pulled the car over on Hwy. 334
at Berea Road.
•Cecile Eugene Ferrell,
38, 1904 Bold Springs Road,
Carnesville, driving with a sus
pended license.
•Arthur William Blackmon, 17,
140 Oak Lane, Jefferson, counter
feiting. He allegedly attempted to
exchange two counterfeit $5 bills
at Hardee’s for a $10 bill. Police
found six more counterfeit bills
with the same serial number when
they found him at Willoughby
Homes. Two juveniles with him
when the crime was committed
were not charged.
Sheriff’s deputies recently
had to be called to the Jackson
County Airport to deal with a
man making threats against the
airport manager.
Jackson County airport manag
er Bob Stapleton said that about
four months ago, he received
threats from a telephone call.
Stapleton said the man’s com
pany wanted to rent a facility at
the airport. However, Stapleton
said, the facility is occupied.
“It has tenants in it,” Stapleton
said. “There are people who are
paying us fees every month to be
there, plus it’s part of our airport
terminal facility where pilots go
for flight planning and weather
and all those things. The bottom
line is that the facility is not avail
able.
“The allegation was that I hung
up on them, which I did not do.
But that was the allegation. From
that point forward, that’s where
the threats were generated.”
Stapleton said he heard noth
ing more until about two weeks
ago when the individual came
to the airport, and restated the
threats against Stapleton.
“When he did that, I called
the deputy and filed another
report with the sheriff’s office,”
Stapleton said.
While the deputy was at the air
port, the individual returned.
“I didn’t encounter him again, I
didn’t talk to him,” Stapleton said.
“The deputy went and talked to
him. He was not very cooperative
and the deputy called for some
other folks to come. His sergeant
and his lieutenant came and they
directed the individual to leave
the airport, which he did.”
Stapleton said he was in the
process of having a restraining
order taken out on the individ
ual.
