Joe Ellis Ingram, 79, of Tucson,
Ariz., formerly of Commerce, died
Friday, June 20, 2008.
He was born on February 27,
1929, the son of the
late Reggie Lee and
Eula Ingram. He
graduated from Ila
High School, Berry College and the
University of Georgia in 1950, with
a A.B.S. Degree in agriculture, Mr,
Ingram served in the United States
Army during the Korean War, attain
ing the rank of sergeant first class.
He was a member of Rogers Baptist
Church and a charter member of El
Cami Baptist Church in Tucson.
Survivors include his wife of 54
years, Julia Ann; a son, Charles;
daughter, Juanita Toresdahl; grand
children, Kari and Ben; son-in-law,
Jim Toresdahl; brothers and sisters-

Ronald A. Vaccarella, 61, of
Commerce, formerly of Belford,
Middletown, N.J., died Friday, July
4, 2008.
He was born in Belford, N.J., the
son of the late Anthony and Dorothy
Johnson Vaccarella, and lived all his
life in Belford before retiring in July
2007. He worked for the Middletown
Road Department as an assistant
foreman for 33 years before his
retirement and was a member of St.
Mary’s Catholic Church in Belford,
N.J.
Survivors include his loving wife,
Kathleen Vaccarella, Commerce; a
son, Richard A. Vaccarella Jr„ Hazlet,
N.J.; daughter, Brandy Vaccarella,
Union Beach, N.J.; step-daughter,
Jennifer Hudak, Manchester, N.J.,
step-son, Thomas Weeks, Asbury
Park, N.J,; grandchildren, Stephen,
Elizabeth and Michael Hudak, all
of Manchester, N.J.; and an uncle,

Charlotte Waldo Sisk, 74, died
Sunday, July 6, 2008, surrounded
by family and friends, at St. Mary's
Hospice House in
Athens, following
a long battle with
cancer,
She was the
daughter of the
late William
Slaton and Ruby
Wilson Waldo and
was employed by
Mayfield Dairy in Braselton. Mrs.
Sisk was preceded in death by a
sister, Bonnie Bird Waldo; brother,
William Slaton Waldo; and son,
Steven Michael Sisk.
Survivors include her husband of 54
years, Bob Sisk; daughter and son-in-
law, Charlotte Ann and Tony Smith;
sons and daughter-in-law, Bobby D.
and Tamara Sisk and Slaton Waldo

Ethel Taylor Gooch, 91, of
Gainesville, died Saturday, July 5,
2008, at Northeast Georgia Medical
Center, following an extended ill
ness.
She was the daughter of the late
Rev. Charles Taylor and Canzada
Roberts Taylor, She worked at
Gayborn Mills for many years,
as well as at Northeast Georgia
Medical Center, Roses 5 & 10 Store,
and Gilford Mills. Mrs, Gooch was
preceded in death by her husband,
Paul Maynard Gooch; brothers, the
Rev. Bunyan Taylor and Otis Garr;
and sisters, Desma Gooch, Bertie
Bryant and Darrell Lewallen. She
was a member of the Montgomery
Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters

Myrl Sprinkles
Myrl Monree Sprinkles, 83, of
Nicholson, died Monday, July 7,
2008, at her residence.
She was born in Towns County,
the daughter of the late Ranzey and
Este Eller. She was a member of the
New Hope Baptist Church and was
a retired nurse, Mrs. Sprinkles was
preceded in death by her husband,
Tommie Lee Sprinkles.
Survivors include sons, Roger
Sprinkles, Nicholson, and Lanier
Sprinkles, Jacksonville, Fla,; sister,
Flo Carter, Winterville; six grandchil
dren; and seven great-grandchildren.

'Bill' Bryan
William Thomas “Bill'' Bryan III,
77, of Jefferson, died Tuesday, July
1, 2008.
He was born on September 19,
1930, in Clarke County, the son of
the late William Thomas Bryan II and
Frances Woodward Bryan and was
retired from Texaco Oil Company,
where he worked
in accounting.
He was a mem
ber of the First
Baptist Church
of Jefferson, a
member of the
Baraca Sunday
School Class, and
past president of
the Senior Adult
Group, and recipient
of the Melvin Jones
Fellowship award
from the Lions Club
International. He was past president
and Tail Twister of the Jefferson Lions
Club, Zone and Region Chairman
of Lion Clubs International, and a
little league baseball coach for 25
years. He was preceded in death by
sons, Michael and Chip Bryan. Mr.
Bryan was a veteran, having served
in the United States Army during
the Korean War,
Survivors include his wife, Jane
Adams Bryan, Jefferson; sons and
daughters-in-law, Jarrett “Jay” and
Roxann Bryan, Westminster, S.C.,
William Thomas “Bo” Bryan IV and
Tara Bryan, Acworth, Robert and

Mary Helen Duncan, 77, of Ila,
died Thursday, July 3,2008, at Athens
Regional Medical Center in Athens.
She was born in Madison County,
the daughter of the late O.T. and
Sarah Zeffrey Collins Duckworth.
She was a member of Harmony
Christian Church and was a home
maker, Mrs. Duncan was preceded
in death by a son, William Arthur
Duncan.

Jerry Carlan
Jerry Carlan, 57, of Homer, died
Sunday, July 6,2008, at his residence,
following an extended illness.
He was the son of the late Asbury
and Nina Carlan and was a member
of the Bethany Christian Church,
He was retired from the Georgia
Department of Transportation after
34 years of service and was a mem
ber of Phi Delta Lodge #148 of
Homer. Mr. Carlan was preceded
in death by brothers, Jimmy Carlan
and Fred Carlan; and a sister, Helen
McKinney.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis
June Carlan, Homer; sisters, Linda
Hanley, Ila, and Mary Ann Galloway,
Homer; brother, Horace Carlan,
Commerce; several nieces and neph
ews; special little great-niece, Lexi
Ausburn; and many other family
and friends.

Patricia Mae Vollrath, 61, of
Lavonia, died Thursday, July 3, 2008,
at her residence.
Born in Franklin County, on
February 4, 1947, she was the
daughter of the late Howard Vollrath
Sr, and Worther Mae Clark Vollrath.
Mrs, Vollrath was preceded in
death by a daughter, Nancy Busby
Fountain; brothers, Howard and
Johnny Vollrath; and a sister, Inez
Bowers. She was of the Holiness
denomination and was a beloved
mother, loved ones stated.

retired carpenter.
He was preceded in

Arnold Ralph Bennett, 79, of
Cleveland, died Monday, July 7,
2008, at Northeast Georgia Medical
Center in Gainesville, following a
brief illness.
He was born on April 15, 1929, in
Jasper, Ala., the son of Willis and
Emily Snow Bennett.
He was the former
owner of Bennett Iron
Works and had lived
in Forsyth County for many years
before moving to White County. He
attended Cleveland Worship Center
and was a veteran, having served in
the United States Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene
Bennett, Cleveland; mother, Emily
Bennett, Jasper, Ala.; sons and daugh-
ter-in-law, Bruce Bennett, Commerce,
