Bridge Dedicated In Honor Of Paul V. Hutchins
Members of the family of the late Paul V.
Hutchins gathered recently on Hoods Mill Road
for the dedication of the bridge over the North
Oconee River at South Apple Valley Road.
Hutchins owned a farm on Hoods Mill Road,
where his wife, Betty, and extended families
still reside, and he pushed for some time to get
the bridge built, leading to it being dedicated
in his name. He died in 1997. Family members
attending the dedication included his wife;
three daughters, Tracie Hutchins, Kela Booth
and Nancy Sealey; two grandchildren, Corley
Booth and Cole Sealey; sister and brother-in-
law, Jacque and J.T. Wilkes; and brother, Larry
Hutchins, among others.
‘Shocked And Disgusted* Over Story Of Death
Editor:
With regard to an article pub
lished in the July 23rd edition
of The Commerce News on Dr.
Joe R. Wardlaw, we wish to
go on record as being utterly
shocked and disgusted with
such poor/tasteless journal
ism. The article was compiled
(from previous news accounts)
by Mark Beardsley and without
doing further research on the
many more recent accomplish
ments of Dr. Wardlaw.
Why did the article and com
ments suddenly disappear from
the website? We have been told
that many comments were sent,
but not posted.
As friends and classmates
(Commerce High School, Class
of 1967), and out of respect
for his family, especially his
children, we seek a public and
written apology for the paper's
insensitivity during a time of
tragedy.
Respectfully,
Randy Fleeman

sex-linked trait, similar to color
