STAR Events Winners
Three Commerce High School FCCLA members won medals at the state
STAR Event March 20 in Athens. Rachel Williams, left, and Mera Patrick,
right, won gold medals for their Life Events Planning project, while Michelle
Cummings, center won a Silver Medal in the Teach and Train project.
Jump For Heart Association
Students at Commerce Primary School and Commerce Elementary School
participated in the annual Jump Rope for Heart event, raising $9,379.71 for
the American Heart Association. Top fund-raisers for the event are, left to
right, (front) Colby Rogers ($175), Eve Fisher ($165), Cohen Brown ($155),
Kaylee Martin ($150), (back) Abby Tolbert ($315), Garrett Ash ($303), Brianna

Pre-K Registration Under Way
The Georgia Pre-K programs in Jackson County Schools,
Commerce City Schools and Jefferson City Schools will
take applications for the next school year through April
17 until 3 p.m. Applications are available at all elementary
schools.
Each school is limited to a number of children in the pro
gram. There will be a drawing to determine which students
will be enrolled. All parents will be notified by mail.
Applicants for the Georgia Pre-K program must be 4 on
or before Sept. 1, 2009, live in the attendance area of the
school they are applying for and have a certified birth
certificate.

(Each Beauty Division) (Optional) Fee: $15 / Early $10
Open to beauty entrants. Judged separately. To participate, bring
one color or black and white 8x10 or less photo to the Pageant
Rehearsal. No late Entries. Do not mail picture.
