Amber Cochran Joins Honor Society

Gainesville State College’s
Rho Mu chapter of Phi
Theta Kappa.
Amber Cochran was
among 55 new members
inducted into the honors
society recognizing excel
lence at two-year colleges.
Membership is based upon
academic achievement.

It’s prom time for local
high schools.
The Commerce High
School Junior Class
will present the CHS
prom Friday, April 17,
from 8:00 to 11:30 p.m.
at the Commerce Civic
Center.
The theme will be
“Written in the Stars,’’
and colors will be black
and silver.
East Jackson Compre
hensive High School will
hold its prom Saturday,
April 25, from 8:00 to 11
p.m. at the Commerce
Civic Center.
The theme is “Premiere
in Paris,’’ and the colors
are red, black and gold.
Photos will be taken
starting at 7:30.
The prom will feature
a Senior Walk at 10:15,
after which the prom
committee and prom
court will be introduced.
The prom king and
queen will be crowned
at 10:30.

Honored By Rotary
Four Commerce Middle School students received the Rotary Youth Merit
Awards at the Eighth Annual RYMA Banquet at Jackson EMC auditorium.

The graduation sec
tion will be published
Wednesday, May 20.
The deadline for sub
mitting photos of home-
schooled graduates is
Wednesday, May 6, at noon.
The home-schooled stu
dent must live in Jackson
or Banks counties.
Photos of poor quality —
such as those printed on
computer paper — may not
be published. Photos should
contain the student’s first,
middle and last names, city
of residence and a contact
phone number (which will
not be published).
