of their daughter, Charlotte
Suzanne Maxwell, to Devin
Wakefield Fowler, son of
Eddie and Renee T. Stovall,
Haines City, FL.
The wedding is planned
for 3 p.m. Saturday, June 6,
at the First Baptist Church
of Cornelia. All family and
friends are invited.
The bride is a graduate of
Banks County High School
and earned a bachelor of
arts degree and master of
arts degree in early child
hood education at Piedmont
College. Miss Maxwell is
employed as a teacher with
the Hall County School
System.
The groom is the grandson
of Ralph and Carol Talarico,
Haines City, FF.
Mr. Fowler is a graduate
of Haines City High School
and has a bachelor of sci
ence degree in economics
and marketing from the
University of South Florida.
He is employed in property
management.
Following the wedding,
the couple will reside in
Haines City, FF.
Brock Reunion Set June 14
The Joe Brock family reunion will be held at the American
Region in Homer Saturday, June 14, starting at 10:00 a.m.

Busy Summer Schedule

There’s a lot going on
at the Commerce Public
Fibrary this summer. First
of all, Vacation Reading
Club sign-ups are under
way. Children to age 18 are
invited to participate; there
will be two reading levels to
choose from. A story time
for children ages 3-5 will
begin Monday, June 1, at
10:30 and continue through
the summer. The Vacation
Reading Club kick-off event
will be Thursday, June 4, at
2:00. Guest entertainer will
be Bruce Berman (Music is
Magic). So bring all the kids
out for some fun.
Attention young adults:
Weekly activities are sched
uled throughout June for
children ages 9-14. The first
program is Art Day June 2
at 4:00. Kids are invited to
draw on scratch board and
decorate our sidewalks with
chalk. A schedule of further
activities is available at the
library.
Adult beginner com
puter classes will begin
Wednesday, June 6, from 6
to 7 p.m. The class will meet
once a week for six weeks.
The first session is full; how
ever names are being taken
for a second session. Pre
registration is required.
The Friends of the Fibrary
will host a book sale
Saturday, June 6, from 10
to 4 in the library audito
rium. Because storage space
is limited, please drop off
gently-used books starting
June 1. And please, no ency
clopedias or textbooks.

Jacob Worley, son of Jerry
and Nancy Worley of
Nicholson.
The wedding is planned for
11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 13,
at State Botanical Gardens
Day Chapel, Athens.
The bride is the grand
daughter of AlbertaMcCarty
and the late Norbert
McCarty; and DJ Clark and
the late Jean Clark, all of
Owensboro, KY.
Miss Clark is a 1997 gradu
ate of Roswell High School
and earned a bachelor of
business administration in
marketing degree from the
University of Georgia in
2002. She earned a bach
elor of arts degree in busi
ness administration with
an emphasis in accounting
from Piedmont College in
2008 and is employed as an
accountant with Thigpen,
Jones, Seaton.
The groom is the grand
son of Frances Massey
and the late John Wilton
Massey; and the late George
and Frances Worley, all of
Commerce.
Mr. Worley is a 1997
graduate of Jackson County
Comprehensive High
School and earned a bache
lor of music degree in music
education at the University
of Georgia in 2002. He is
employed as director of
bands at Dublin Middle
School.
'Be Creative' At Maysville Library
All children 12 and under are invited to “Be Creative’’
at the Maysville Public Fibrary’s 2009 Summer Reading
Program. Children may register at the library.
The library will offer a variety of programs all summer,
so patrons are invited to pick up a list of events and drop
in often. Everyone who participates in the program will be
invited to an end-of-summer awards party.

Swindle Library Announces Events
The Summer Reading Program is coming up at the Harold
S. Swindle Public Fibrary, Nicholson. Programs will be held
from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursdays in June and July 2.

• June 18 - Fran Sullivan, tissue paper collage
•June 25 - Keith Karnot, magician and ventriloquist
• July 2 - Fearn about the U.S. flag. Wear red, white and
