Attica Baptist Church,
Athens, will hold a ground
breaking ceremony Sunday,
June 14, at 12 p.m. with lunch
to follow. Leaders state,
"Attica welcomes the com
munity to join with us in com
memorating the 7800 square
foot addition to be added to
our property containing fel
lowship, Sunday school and
multi-purpose space.” The
ceremony is being held in
honor of the church's 100th
anniversary, Everyone is
asked to bring a covered dish
for the lunch. The church
is located at 4352 Lebanon
Church Road, just off Hwy.
129 in South Jackson County.

Mount Pleasant C.M.E.
Church will hold a two-day
youth event titled “Youth
Explosion” Saturday and
Sunday, June 13 and 14, The
event will start with a horse
shoe tournament on Friday
at 10 a.m. The cost to enter
the tournament will be $25
a team and each team will
consist of two members.
There will also be a fish fry.
Following the tournament,
there will be a lawn con
cert featuring Prodigal Son,
a gospel rapper. The event
will conclude on Sunday
with a service. Minister
Cheryl Fitch, youth pastor
of New Piney Grove Baptist
Church of Decatur, will be
the guest speaker, Prodigal
Son will render the music.
Refreshments will be served

ally wrapped sliced cheese,
20 oz. shoestring fries, 1 lb.
broccoli cuts, 12 oz. peanut
butter, 1 lb. rice, 1 lb. pinto
beans, 1 lb. tub margarine
(0 trans fat), 32-oz. 2% shelf-
stable milk, one dozen eggs
and dessert. The cost is $30.
