Survey ••• Cont. from Page 1A
won’t pick the district’s
next superintendent, but
will help the BOE estab
lish qualifications for the
position, solicit applica
tions and review potential
candidates based on those
qualifications.
Elrod said the Jackson
County School System’s
website — www.jackson.
kl2.ga.us — will have an
eight-question survey for
the community, starting
this week. The survey will
remain on the district’s
website for two weeks.
The survey will focus on
important qualifications
for the next superinten
dent and will be accom
panied by a letter from
board chairperson Lynne
Wheeler, according to
Elrod.
For his final annual
review on Monday, super
intendent Adams received
a “satisfactory” evaluation
from the board of educa
tion. The decision followed
a 20-minute closed-door
meeting to discuss the
evaluation.
Wheeler thanked Adams
for his service to the
Jackson County School
System.
Also on Monday, the
board of education named
Wheeler its chairman for
another year and Tim
Brooks as its vice chair
man for an additional term.
Both have been serving in
those positions for the past
year.
Each member of the
Jackson County Board of
Education is elected by the
public, but the chairperson
and vice chairperson are
selected annually by the
board members.
