Commerce Police Department incidents
13-year-old allegedly
sodomized 6-month-old baby
The Commerce Police
Department is investigating a
report of sodomy allegedly
committed against a 6-month-
old baby by a 13-year-old boy.
A woman came to the
police department to say she
went to a residence to drop
off some items for another
woman. She went to the back
door and knocked, but got no
answer. She then went to the
front door and opened it, at
which time she saw a 13-year-
old boy holding a 6-month-
old baby, the baby’s head in
his hand and the boy’s penis
in the baby’s mouth.
The officer turned the case
over to the criminal investiga
tive division.
The report indicated that
the children have been sep
arated, with the infant going
to her father’s residence and
the alleged perpetrator stay
ing with his mother.
Other Incidents
Other matters requiring
attention by Commerce
police officers during the past
week include:
• theft by taking at a Creek-
dale Drive location where
someone stole $400 worth
of items from an unlocked
took box in the back of a
pickup truck.
• a burglary at a Pine Street
address where a woman said
a white male missing his left
leg entered the garage look
ing for items to take. The
victim called her father, who
said the subject moved things
around, but nothing appeared
to be missing. Later that day,
the officer was called back
and advised that the suspect
took a chainsaw, put it under
his shirt, and left. There is
video of the theft. The chain
saw is valued at $400.
•shoplifting reported at the
Atlanta Union Mission Thrift
Store, South Broad Street,
where someone stole a num
ber of items stacked on a
counter at the front of the store.
The surveillance video shows
a male walking to the count
er, picking up the items and
walking away. He then returned
and picked up a children’s
computer and left. The male
was accompanied by a slender
white female who had a large
tattoo of “wings” on her back.
• battery reported at a
Willoughby Homes Apart
ment where a man allegedly
struck a pregnant woman in
the face. Police noted that
the victim’s forehead was
swollen. She said her live-in
boyfriend threw a phone at
her and struck her in the fore
head during an argument in
which he accused her of lying
and cheating on him. A wit
ness confirmed the victim’s
account of the incident, and
the officer took out warrants
for the arrest of the man.
• damage to property in the
parking lot of Heritage Hills
Apartments, where someone
struck a vehicle, causing the
front bumper to detach and
scratching the left side of the
rear bumper.
•a dispute on South Elm
Street in which a man said
he had to slam on the brakes
to keep from hitting a vehi
cle that pulled out in front of
him. He pulled up alongside
the vehicle, which was driven
by someone he knew, and
the driver made an obscene
gesture and drove off. The
second driver came back to
the scene and told the officer
that the complainant came
up on him flashing his head
lights, cut into his lane and
cut him off.
• an assist to the Jackson
County Sheriff’s Office in
which a Commerce officer
apprehended a man being
chased by Jackson County
deputies. The man’s vehicle
was in a ditch and the officer
saw him get out and run and
managed to cut him off as the
man ran out of the woods.
The Commerce officer drove
toward the man, who raised
his hands as if surrendering.
The officer placed him into
handcuffs.
• a fight in the area of Pine
Street involving multiple peo
ple with knives. When police
arrived, they found people on
both sides of the road and
vehicles stopped in the road.
Multiple officers responded.
Although there had been
reports of knives and people
shooting, police found no vic
tims and the crowd refused
to tell police what happened.
•the towing of a vehicle
left on Interstate 85 north
bound. A pregnant female’s
water had broken and EMS
responded to the scene. The
officer ran the tag number
and the tag came back to a
different vehicle. He ran the
vehicle identification number,
and it came back with no
insurance.
•the towing of a vehicle
abandoned on 1-85 at the
southbound ramp at Exit 147.
Commerce Police Department arrests
Man charged with child molestation
The Commerce Police
Department announced the
arrest last week of a 30-year-old
man on a child molestation
charge.
Claudio Gonzales Feliz,
935 Homer Road, Lot 78,
Commerce, faces the charge
after police responded to
Northridge Medical Center
where the alleged victim’s
mother told them about an
incident that happened that
day involving Feliz.
The officers turned the
matter over to the investigative
department, which arrested
Feliz. Details of the arrest were
not made available.
Others Charged
Other people arrested or
cited by Commerce police
during the past week include:
• Kenneth Royce Walton, 27,
58 Green Street, Commerce,
battery. A man and a woman
walked into the police depart
ment and the woman said
Walton began arguing with the
man, who was in the back
seat of her sport utility vehicle.
As the two exchanged words,
the woman said Walton dove
into the vehicle and began to
fight with the man. The victim
confirmed that report. Anoth
er officer interviewed Walton,
who claimed that the alleged
victim provoked the fight, but
yet another witness confirmed
the account of the woman and
the victim.
• Ronnie Dwayne Bales,
32, 98 Pine Street, Daniels-
ville, possession of a firearm
by a convicted felon. Jackson
County issued a lookout for a
black Jeep Liberty in regard
to a man who went to ABC
Pawn in Commerce, appar
ently under the influence of
something, and tried to sell a
shotgun. An officer located the
vehicle at Commerce Jewelry
and Quick Pawn, North Broad
Street, where Bales told the
officer he and his girlfriend had
tried to sell a shotgun at ABC
Pawn. He told the officer he
was a convicted felon and that
she owned the gun. The offi
cer noted slurred speech, and
Bales said he had taken meth
adone. A pat-down turned
up a pill bottle with the label
removed and nothing inside
but a white powdery residue.
The girlfriend alleged that she
was the one who tried to pawn
the gun, but since Bales had
a criminal record, the officer
searched the vehicle, during
which he found several items
of jewelry pocket knives and
tools still in their original pack
aging. The officer asked the
owner of Commerce Jewelry
and Quick Pawn if anyone had
tried to sell a shotgun, and he
said Bales brought the gun in.
Bales then told the officer that
he took the weapon into the
store because the woman with
him had trouble walking and
he did not want her to get out
of the vehicle.
• Patrick Lee Boyd, 35, 101
Sunny Lane, Commerce, shop
lifting. An employee of Quality
Foods, Maysville Road, said he
saw Boyd pick up packaged
meat and walk to the drink
aisle, where he stood between
two displays and tried to hide
the meat inside his pants. The
employee watched Boyd from
a camera, then went to con
front him, at which time Boyd
pulled the meat from his pants
and tossed it to the side. He
then picked up the meat and
walked up toward the front of
the store as if he was going
to pay for it, and the employ
ee asked Boyd to come to
the office, where he stayed
until the employee called the
police. Boyd denied putting
the meat in his pants, saying
he put it down and picked it
up again. The officer viewed
the surveillance video, which
showed Boyd putting the meat
in his pants. In addition to the
citation for shoplifting, Boyd
was issued a criminal trespass
warning.
• Stesha Marleen Gillespie,
39, 75 Bennett Street, Com
merce, driving with a suspend
ed license, driving without
insurance, driving an unreg
istered vehicle and use of a
license plate to conceal the
identity of a vehicle. An officer
responded to Martin Luther
King Jr. Drive to a report of
reckless driving, saw the vehi
cle, ran the tag and found that
the tag did not match the vehi
cle. He stopped the vehicle
and eventually learned that
her license was suspended
and she had no insurance.
•Arturo Hernandez Jr., 25,
3059 Maysville Road, Com
merce, speeding and driving
with a suspended license. An
officer stopped Arturo on U.S.
441 after clocking him doing
75 miles per hour in a 55-mph
zone. The driver’s license
came back suspended.
• Donald Jason Dorsey 35,
819 Apple Valley Road, Com
merce, driving with a suspend
ed license and driving without
insurance. An officer stopped
Dorsey after running a vehicle
registration check on a vehicle
that turned quickly into a park
ing lot in an apparent attempt
to avoid the officer. Dorsey
told the officer that his license
was suspended and said that
his wife “must have let their
insurance lapse again,” the
incident report said.
•Buena Ventura Ayala-Pe-
rez, no age available, 830 Sun
set Drive, Apartment 18, Ath
ens, driving while unlicensed.
An officer stopped her after
he’d worked an accident
involving the vehicle she was
in and had warned her that
if she moved the vehicle she
was subject to arrest for driving
without a license. The female
who had been driving the vehi
cle at the time of the accident
did not have a license either.
Suspect extradited for 2013 murder
A man charged in a 2013
murder in Arcade who has
been held in California in
connection with another
incident has been extradit
ed to Jackson County to
face the charges.
Mou Moua, 41, was
booked at the Jackson
County Sheriff’s Office this
week on charges of aggra
vated assault, false impris
onment, kidnapping and
murder. The charges stem
from the murder in 2013,
believed to have occurred
between July 4-8, of Larry
Durham, 66, at his home on
Azalea Drive.
Moua allegedly fled the
area after the murder and an
extensive search ended with

the murder charges.
