During this year, 1905, the
Cornier will be re¬
duced from its present size to a
9x12 8-column, 4 page paper and
the price also is reduced to 50
cents per year. If your neighbor
is not taking his county paper
you would do us a great favor by
just bringing it to his notice that
he can now get it at the extreme¬
ly low price of 50 cents per year,
This is the only county paper we
know of published at 50 cents,
and it is only on account ol us
having an improved press that
we are enabled to do this.
Perhaps before our next issue
we will have sent out statements
Co all of our readers who are in
arrears with us. We have been
very patient with main of our
readers and trust those will
be prompt to respond as at this
time we are rather close run
about money matters.
Last week being Christmas
week we only out a sheet
large enough to print legal
advertisements, as we informed
you we would in the previous
issue. Printers must have a little
Xmas as well as other folks.
‘“Two years from now,” say
the republicans of North Caroli¬
na, “we will take our state out
of the “solid South.’ At the last
election they reduced the Demo¬
cratic majority some 85,000. If
this operation is repeated the old
North State will again come into
the Union.
Humpy Dumpy had a fall;

stand.
John Motley,the British states¬
man, who was the guest of the
President for several days, has
been giving the Americans some
good advice. He remarked to
some gentleman at the White
