The movement for Boy Scoot*
for Cleveland was given a big
boost last Tuesday night, Feb. tO,
when a number of citizens of
Cleveland met at the Coutt House
and were organized into a boy
scout committee. The member* of
the committee who were present
and joined in the movement were:
B. G. Aliison, J. H. Telford Clif¬
ford Campbell, Sheriff Lot Vandi¬
ver. C- E. Head, Hope Campbell,
Ernest Crane, Ctareuce Barrett,
Dr. L. G. Neal, and Col, J. B.
Conyers, Dr. Neal could not b«
present but became a member.
A delegation of Scout executives
and leaders jrom Gainesville were
also present for the meeting and
discussed the movement and wbat
it ryiil mean to the young boys of
Cleveland and White County,
These men were : Messrs C, D.
Young, District Manager of Geor*
gin Power Company, who said that
he had been 15 years in scout
work : Rulp Hosch Bros,, Py C,
Henderson, for twenty or more
yeurs, a scout leader and executive
and Ed McPherson, who has per¬
sonally been scout leader for three
scout troops at different times.
The Cleveland citizens were in¬
formed that the Roy Head Post
No. 16 of the American Legion
was tbs sponsoring organization,
and they had been asked to form
the local scout committee. Each
man expressed himself as being
heartily behind the movemeut,
paid his dues for a year and elected

will select two assistants later
Each member of the committee
was given and given, and accept¬
ed, a definite assignment of the
work, The boys themselves has
previously voted to meet Such Wed¬
nesday night. The first meeting
will be Feb. lSth and each scout is
expected to pass hts tendnrlooi
tenderfoot test and make applica¬
tion for membership, arid pay his
annuai dues of 50 cents. The com¬
