Blood drive a success!
The senior anatomy blood drive at Jenkins County High School was a huge success with 221 people attempting to
donate and 178 good pints of blood collected. The class would like to thank the students, faculty and community

United Methodist Church.
The bride-elect is the grand
daughter of Mi's. Elizabeth Echols
and the late Mr Harold L. Echols
of Millen, and the late Mr and
Mrs. Milton E. Walker Sr. of
Lincolnton.
Ashley is a 2002 graduate of
June 6
Thomson High School and a
2006 graduate of the University
of Georgia, where she received a
Bachelor of Science in Education.
She is employed by the McDuffie
County Board of Education as a
special education teacher at Max
well Elementary School.
The groom-elect is the grand
son of the Rev. and Mrs. Carson
R. Eick Sr of Thomson, and the
late Mr Robert C. Morey of
Camak and Ms. Geneva
Kitchings of Augusta.
Josh is a 2001 graduate of
Thomson High School and a
2005 graduate of the University

daughter of Connie Cavendar of
Claxton, Don and JoAnn Holmes
of Hopkinsville, Ky. and the late
Loren and Hortense Williams of
Millen.
Miss Williams is a 2002 gradu
ate of Jenkins County High
School and a 2004 graduate of
East Georgia College. She is a
2006 graduate of Georgia South
ern University with a Bachelor of
Science in Early Childhood Edu
cation, and a 2008 graduate of
Walden University with a
Master’s in Reading and Literacy.
She is employed as a pre-kinder
garten teacher with the Jenkins
County Board of Education.
The groom-elect is the grand
son of J.W. and Betty Clayton of
Sardis, the late Inez Clayton of
Sardis, Robert and Polly Cobb of
Moultrie, and Jean Williams and
the late Enoch Williams of
Millen.
Mr. Powell is a 1999 graduate
of Dublin High School. He at
tended Georgia Southern Univer
sity where he majored in Con
struction Management. He is a
partner in the JonCobb Company,
LLC.
