Mrs. Smith, tho mother of Mrs. Perkins, died last week. The overseers are putting the roads in good condition for court. Mr. C. A. Meeks was quite sick a few days of last week. Mr. W. B. Mason is visiting Atlanta this week. j Mrs. T. O. and M, L. Chandler of Grove Level, was in town this week. Misses Emma and Lizzie Per kins visited their aunt,‘Mrs. Cox, last week. At nil times and in ail seasons we should be on cur guard, and adopt sufficient measures to protect our selves from the poison of hydro phobia. But, in consideration of the fact, that several persons in our community have already been bitten by a rabbid dog, and the fur ther fact, that other dogs have been bitten, it is imperatively nec essary that such dogs be confined until it is certainly known, that the disease spreads no further. There is more danger cf being bitten by dogs just commencing to davelop the disease, than those fu riously rabbid. The disease begins in the dog by a sullen, morose,and restless, or fidgety condition of the animal. He shows, at first, no dis position to bite unless ho is disturb ed, and will answer the calls of his master. He curls up, with his face between his forepaws, as if to avoid the light. His oountenanca be comes ugly end suspicious. He goes trom one to another of the family, as it seeking relief. He soon becomes restless and snaps in the air, and at any passing object, and leaves home.
