Alexander—An Eye-wituess Describes his Tortures and Suf ferings Before Dealli relieved Him—How he obtained the 10 Drops of Strychnine—Why he Took the Deadly drug. The death of l3aa. Alexander, which occurred some weeks back, and mention of same, which appeal ed in the Journal at the time, but details of cause, which the Jour nal could not give, has since come to light. His death occurred in tills wise:—Statement from an eyewit ness. “I had purchased 20 drops of strychnine. The crows had been eating my corn so. that I was de termined to get rid of them. During his sickness he prayed and regretted his rash aet, stating that ha did not intend to ki l himself, but took the drug with the intention of going to sleep, and if he had it to do over agaia, he would cot do it forany thing in the world. The true cause ot bis committing suicide is believed to have derived from drink.
