The readers of this paper will be pleased to
learn that there is at least one dreaded dis
ease that science has been able to cure in all
its stages, and that is Catarrh. Hall’s Catarrh
Cure is the only positive cure now known to
the medical fraternity. Catarrh being a con
stitutional disease, requires a constitutional
treatment. Hall’s Catarrh Cure is taken inter
nally, acting directly upon the blood and mu
cous surfaces of the system, thereby destroy
ing the foundation of the disease, and giving
the patient strength by building up the con
stitution and assisting nature in doing its
work. The proprietors have so much faith
in its curative powers that thev offer One
Hundred Dollars for any case that it fails to
cure. Send for list of testimonials. Address

THEIR SKIN TROUBLES CURED.
Two Little Girls Had Eczema Very
Badly—ln One Case Child’s Hair
Came Out and Left Bare Patches
—Cuticura Met with Success.
“I have two little girls who have been
troubled very badly with eczema. One of
them had it on her lower limbs. I did
everything that I could hear of for her, but
it did not give in until warm weather, when
it seemingly subsided. The next winter
when it became cold the eczema started
again and also in her head, where it would
take the hair out and bare patches.
At the same time her arms were sore the
whole length of them. I took her to a
physician, but the child grew worse all the
time. Her sister's arms were also affected.
I began using the Cuticura Remedies, and
by the time the second lot was used their
skin was soft and smooth. Mrs. Charles
Baker, Albion, Me., Sept. 21, 1908.”

Mastery of the Air.
"Mastery of the air” is a fearfully
overworked phrase, btP every day con
firms its appropriateness when applied
to the Wright brothers. In contrast
with the long succession of failures,
accidents and half-successes which
culminated in Orville Wright’s disas
trous flight at Fort Myer, the career
of the two -brothers ever since has
been an almost unbroken sequence of
victories. A long flight by the Wright
aeroplane is no longer an event, but
u coirvmohplace. The goddess acci
dent has ceased to persecute them.
Cables and chains no longer part
abruptly, motors don't freeze up or
clog, steering gear works smoothly,
even the winds of heaven seem to
have refrained from unmannerly gusts
and eddies. It is the difference be
tween trial and performance; the leap
from pupilship to mastery. Masters
the two Americans are peculiarly en
titled to be called, because they are
so successful in passing on their sec
rets to t'heir pupils.—New York Even
ing Post.

The Original of Taffy Is Dead.
Taffy, the original Du Maurier’s
character in “Trilby,” which only re
cently the Harpers rep Tinted in this
country', was known to be Joseph
Rowley of Queen's Ferry. Flintshire,
and news comes that Mr. Rowley' has
just died in England. When a young
student in Paris he was a comrade of
several distinguished artists, not alone
Du Maurier, but Leighton and Whist
leT, and throughout the entire Latin
quarter was noted for bis prodigious
strength. It is pleasant to recall that
the mighty Taffy was a true type of
English manhood, that he had powers
in wrestling and boxing, as well as
skill in cricket, and the dexterous
game of billiards. He was a magis
trate of Flintshire and an old and
close neighbor of Mr. Gladstone. —New
